Darling 2. - Movie Review

Darling II is not a sequel to Darling I since it has no connection with the first part except that it is also a ghost story.

Ram and Ayisha love each other and seek the help of Aravind (Ram's friend) since they strongly know that Ram's family will never show the green signal.  Aravind arranges for their register marriage but just wants to play with his friend and Ayisha that leads to the suicide of the lovers who mistake Aravind and die with a revenge mood against him.  This is unfolded to the audience little by little with suspense and ghost play.

The story starts with Aravind's trip to Valparai along with his friends and their lonely stay at his estate where Ram had already stayed while alive.  Haunted by ghost, all friends and audience are revealed that the ghost of Ram has already entered Aravind to kill him on the same date on which Ram committed suicide.

The story is not without the element of suspense.  Ayisha who brings food to the friends in the estate is reported to have died already very late in the movie but not impressively.

The major fault is that suspense is misplaced - it is kept where it shouldn't be and it is not where it should be.  The betrayal of Aravind is not really betrayal and so the very revenge of the ghost becomes meaningless.  The graphics elephant, though looking real, and the very scene with it looks forcefully inserted.  Dialogues and songs fail to appeal mostly.

There are scenes surely to burst into laughter and there are scenes to chill your nerves.  Ayisha has done her part well and to the needs.   Last few scenes are so fast and reveal all suspense in a hurried way, in a way not tasteful and sheding charms.

Story is serious but presentation is not with very much thrilling and  ghost horrors.

You needn't fear.  It really doesn't terrify you more than what your wife can do.

A movie with an interesting story but with more disappointments of horrors.
